GSTT: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)- seminar for primary care
Guy’s and St Thomas’ would like to invite you to a one hour interactive seminar with a practical overview of IBD cases in the COVID-19 recovery phase.The session will cover :
- Rapid access diagnostic during COVID-19, new vetting systems and referral criteria
- Extra intestinal manifestations of Crohn ‘s disease
- IBD diagnosis/challenges and treatment
- Questions will be taken at the end of the talk.

SL EASE: Mental Health in children and young adults
Overview: The South London Faculty of RCGP would like to invite all local GPs and beyond to attend our first of 2021 FREE EASE talks on Mental Health in children and young adults with two great speakers, Dr Rani Samuel and Dr Sulagna Chakrabarti who are Consultant Paediatric Psychiatrists from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Focus of the talk will be: depression in children and young adults and deliberate self-harm in children and young adults. Event will be hosted by Faculty Board member and Portfolio GP, Dr Maria Drakou.

Health Education England: Multi-professional Workplace Supervision in Primary Care
New course on multi-professional workplace supervision for primary care educators and training hub leads. Delivered in five 3 hour online seminars. Mixture of large and facilitated small group teaching.
The course will cover:
- How we learn
- Educational relationships and the role of the workplace
- Entrustability and the workplace curriculum
- Assessment and Feedback
- From competent individuals to capable teams
- Challenges in educational relationships

Priority will be given to training hub and PCN education leads (clinical and non-clinical), but all prospective or actual primary care supervisors welcome. No prior training in education is assumed. South East London Primary Care Cancer Webinar Series
South East London Cancer Alliance will be hosting a series of webinars as part of the South East London Primary Care Cancer Education Work Plan.
The first set of webinars were held in Nov & Dec 2020 and supported Primary Care Networks (PCN) in delivering the Early Cancer Diagnosis DES Contract Specification, focusing on the different components within the Early Diagnosis DES. – Safety Netting / Diagnostics in Primary Care / Significant Event Analysis (1 of 3 webinars)
The second phase of webinars, commencing in January 2021 will concentrate on the role of PCNs in personalised care. Courses planned so far:
- Wednesday 13th January: 1pm to 2pm – Meeting the Needs of People Living with Cancer
- Thursday 4th February: 1pm to 2pm – Side Effects and Late Effects of Common Cancer Treatments
- Wednesday 3rd March: 1pm to 2pm – Health and Wellbeing Support for People with Cancer
