· Free Skype lunchtime seminar – Allergy for GPs and primary care clinicians

Dr Chris Rutkowski, Clinical Lead for Adult Allergy at Guy’s and St Thomas’ would like to invite you to a one hour interactive Skype seminar where you will learn how to improve the diagnosis, patient referrals and the management of allergy in primary care. Questions will be taken at the end of the talk.

The talk will cover the following topics:

  • Itchy rash and recurrent swellings
  • Penicillin allergy- what to do?
  • Is it really nut allergy?

·Heart failure and stroke workshop for primary care clinicians

An evening event for GPs organised by Guy’s and St Thomas’. Dr Gerry Carr-White (Clinical lead for cardiology and inherited cardiac diseases) and Dr Ajay Bhalla (Clinical lead for stroke medicine) will present on:

  • Transient ischemic attacks
  • Managing heart failure and atrial fibrillation

This event attracts two CPD points. Light supper and a certificate of attendance following the event will be provided.

· Persistent physical symptoms – managing complex patients in primary care

Consultants from Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley would like to invite you to a free evening event for GPs. The aim of this workshop is to focus on complex patients that GPs find difficult to manage from a diagnostic and therapeutic perspective. The agenda will cover:

  • Diagnosis and management of patients with not specific symptoms when cancer is in the differential diagnosis; an holistic approach.
  • Diagnosis and management of patients with persistent non-specific respiratory symptoms and use of exercise capacity test
  • Diagnosis and management of patients with persistent non-specific symptoms and mental health assessment.
  • Nutrition, lifestyle and functional medicine interventions in patients with multiple chronic conditions
