This service is only accessible by referral from your GP.
Building on the success of a 2020-21 pilot led by Dr Angelika Razzaque within the North Lewisham PCN, One Health Lewisham has been commissioned by NHS South East London Clinical Commissioning Group to provide a Pan-Lewisham Community Dermatology Service. The service will build capacity and expertise within the community and allow patients to be seen quickly, closer to home. The service is led by GPs with Extended Roles (GPwERs) and Speciality Doctors in dermatology.
The Community Dermatology Service manages a broad range of dermatological conditions and strengthens the dermatology offering in Lewisham by providing a specialist led intermediary service. The Service will play a key role in improving patient experience and outcomes as well as providing a link between primary and secondary care.
Initially all dermatological patients visiting their GP will be referred to the services (unless identified as requiring urgent secondary care services), and will usually be seen within a 2-6 week period . This means the you may be able to be fully treated without the need to go to secondary care, or if you do then you will already be receiving some treatment whilst you wait.
