Talia Jay – Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach

Hi, I’m Talia. I am curious and love to learn about others, holding an undergraduate and post-graduate degree in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from The University of Nottingham. I’ve worked in various settings, including schools and supported living with people experiencing a wide range of Mental Health conditions. I have a passion for working alongside people who are facing mental health and wellbeing challenges to help them thrive and get the most out of their lives. I am creative and enjoy keeping myself and others healthy through engaging with psychological interventions and other activities such as crafts, sports and adventures. I believe in the motivation that comes from taking on a challenge and the reward of accomplishment, for example, I recently supported a group of service users to climb Mount Snowden. I am currently on my own journey to becoming a Clinical Psychologist and am excited to gain valuable experience and knowledge in my new role as a Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach at One Health Lewisham.

Richard Oladi – Head of Operations

Dear OHL Colleagues,

I am excited to be joining the OHL team from next month and very much looking forward to hopefully meeting you all on a more personal level once I join the organisation.

By means of a brief introduction to myself, my previous roles have been shared between NHS Primary Care and the private sector, working overseas in the pharmaceutical industry delivering expansion and growth in emerging markets. I have been involved in long-term strategic planning, global and local strategy development, marketing innovation, change management, tactical execution and implementation.

I am joining One Health Lewisham from my current role operationally managing a private polyclinic in Kent.

I am a passionate advocate of NHS Primary Care and feel hugely positive about the future of modern general practice. I am a firm believer in facilitating innovation and change within our complex health architecture of integrated care systems, CCGs, federations and PCNs. For me, job satisfaction comes from leading a cohesive team focussed on delivering inclusive, collaborative and compassionate care, resulting in better patient outcomes and tackling health inequalities.

I am married and enjoy skiing, running, travel and cooking. I would consider myself something of a foodie and love trying new food and exploring new cultures!  I currently live in Brighton with my wife and we hope to soon be relocating to the south-east of London.

With warmest regards and very best wishes,

Benedicta Idowu – Lead Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach

I have worked in the mental health sector for about 8 years. I started off by using movement and dance as a form of therapeutic support for children and young people with social anxiety, and held showcases for their loved ones to celebrate their progress.

I then went on to study Psychology as an undergraduate and studied Mental Health and Psychological Therapies at Master’s level.

While studying, I was privileged enough to work as a Behavioural Management coach and SEN & SEMH teaching assistant. I worked with children and young people with various learning needs and styles and supported them with their social, emotional, and mental health needs. I then advanced on to become a Learning Needs and Mental Health Practitioner, working with Hospitals in supporting patience to recovery and transition into more stable living environments.

In 2019, I transitioned into becoming a Mental Health Practitioner and Counsellor – I worked with young people with complex needs; counselling and supported them in developing a healthy and holistic lifestyle. Working hand in hand with multi-agency companies such as schools, families, carers, medical professionals, and law enforcement, to ensure the client received the appropriate kind of support. Shortly after, I tensioned into a more senior role as a Team manager. I still provide counselling for clients, however, in addition to that, I also provide management, supervision and support for a team of junior practitioners and carers.
