Due to this year’s exceptional circumstances the Mayor of Lewisham has decided to do things differently. Instead of an award ceremony with winners, there will be a focus on recognition for the phenomenal contribution of so many who have played a role in in the borough’s response to COVID-19. This means all nominees will receive an award. Their contribution could be any kind of formal or informal volunteering or going over and above in their jobs.

If you know an individual, young person, community or faith group, voluntary organisation, local charity or business who have made a difference during the pandemic, please nominate them for a Mayor’s Award. This could include helping a neighbour, volunteering, donating money and food, starting a local support group, or a business which has redirected its services and goods, plus many more.

A selection of initiatives, projects and stories will be made into short videos to showcase the diversity of the contributions: the videos will be shown at a special week of thanks in January 2021.

The closing date for nominations is midnight Sunday 6 December.

If you require a paper nomination form or have any other enquiries, please email Liam.O’DohertyLovely@lewisham.gov.uk or call 0208 314 7733.
