Lewisham has some of the highest HIV and STI prevalence rates in the UK.  66% of people prefer to use their GP for sexual health services. One Health Lewisham has been awarded funding from VIIV (a global company specialising in HIV and AIDS) for training in HIV care for GPs and nurses in primary care in Lewisham. The training sessions are free and provides quick and simple strategies to assess your patients’ sexual health risk.  These sessions will change clinical practice and improve sexual health outcomes for patients. Free Training Sessions for Practice Nurses:-

Session 1: STI Update • Up-to-date information on diagnosing & managing STIs • Which tests and which swabs to take • Outline protocol to take back to the surgery Friday 21 June 1pm – 5pm (Lunch 12:30pm) Olive Room, University Lewisham Hospital
